Technip

TECHNIP is world leader in engineering, technology and turn key projects in the field of oil & gas industry as well as in renewable energy. Founded in 1958, TECHNIP is a regular workforce of 23 000 present in 46 countries. TECHNIP's activity covers offshore and onshore field development, gas processing and liquefaction, refining, onshore pipelines, petrochemicals and renewable energies (biofuels, photovoltaic, marine energy and carbon capture and storage). It is particularly well positioned in the marine energy area, backed by its own high quality industrial assets dedicated to this business since years acquired through numerous projects in Oil&Gasdeepwater sector.

Thanks to its highly-skilled engineers and technicians, TECHNIP has developed strong technological expertise, conceiving and implementing its own products, technologies and related proprietary equipment in the sub-sea and offshore areas (sub-sea pipelines, umbilicals, ROVs, platforms).

TECHNIP is an engineering and construction company for the energy industry, but in addition most of the senior staff in engineering division have been partners in national and internal R&D projects in partnership with sub-contractors, suppliers, major company, research and laboratories centre. They have a great experience in fixed and floating structures like jacket and topsides (Amenam 1&2, East Area), TPG 500 production jack-up (Harding, Elgin & Shah Deniz), FPSO (N’Kossa, Girassol, Dalia, AKPO) and semisubmersible (P51, P52).

One of the main assets of TECHNIP is to keep a close contact with fabrication yards all over the world and take care of cost evolution in order to propose to its client the best compromise between technology and price to answer to the client.

TECHNIP is already part of the offshore wind market with its active participation in the HyWind project: the world’s first full-scale floating wind turbine for which TECHNIP fabricated the floater and did the installation.

In HiPRWind, TECHNIP, based on its extensive expertise in the field, will play a leading role in the efforts of the consortium on the design, construction and installation of the research platform (WP1and WP2). Thus, all the steps from concept to welding and transport are benefitting from TECHNIP's experience which is absolutely vital to the success of the project.
