Work Package 2. Test platform realisation.
The main objective of this WP is the construction of the floating platform design that has been developed in the framework of WP 1. Subsequently a 1.5 MW wind turbine will be assembled on top of it. The floating structure will be installed and commissioned at Avilés (Asturias) port. From there, it will be transported by barge to a yard near the Norwegian test site in the vicinity of Trondheim, where the wind turbine will be installed on the floater. According to the requirements and the test program settled on in WP 3, the whole structure will be equipped with sensors serving for the Structural Health Monitoring procedure. WP2 is defined as Demonstration work and under the responsibility of WP leader IDESA with eight of the other HiPRWind partners contributing.
