China is first to announce a specific target for deep water offshore wind, 50 GW by 2050, in its national Wind Energy Roadmap (developed with IEA technical support) as part of planned 1 TW wind capacity by 2050.

The HiPRwind porject completes its First-Year Review at the sidelines of the Amsterdam Offshore Wind conference, where increased attention is noted to the potential of floating solutions.

The HiPRwind ("Hyperwind") project will be presented at the Strategic Energy Technology Plan conference in Warsaw 28-29 November 2011 by invitation of the Polish presidency and the EU Energy Commissioner.
